| Love Lies Bleeding heralds a glimpse into a mystical and magical world as the greatest European legend of all is unveiled - the Quest for the Grail. |
|
| In Kaleidoscope Theatre's original tale three wounded lords, Jesus, Pelles and Arthur, are linked by the Grail & the search for divine and infinite love and peace and all are betrayed by someone close to them. Each suffer on behalf of the land and its people. |
|
| The tale is of the struggle between good and evil (the Heavens & the Underworld) centering on possession of the Holy Grail, and follows the mystical cup from its beginnings with the Fall of Lucifer, through its use at the Last Supper and its appearance at Arthur's Round Table to its resting place in the Grail Temple. |
|
The Quest, both physical and spiritual, is undertaken by an innocent boy living away from the
world in the womb-like warmth of the forest with his mother. He is Parcifal, the Innocent Fool, and he is
guided on his journey by the Grotesques who symbolise a force for good like the little stone figures who
are to be seen on sacred buildings keeping evil at bay.A medieaval tapestry of legend, history and allegory, richly interwoven with mime, music, dance, drama, voice and an alchemy of visual and sound effects, costume and characters. |
| The entire audience reeled under the impact of a rich tapestry of dream-like sequences
in a riveting performance. Something very precious and infinitely
moving which has to be experienced first hand. Kenilworth News at the RSCs Swan Theatre, Stratford |
|
| A perfect synthesis of lighting, costume, set and venue, with a soundtrack that makes Star
Wars look like a model of restraint, this is the most impressive production on the Fringe. A profoundly
moving experience. The List at the Edinburgh Festival |

| "I was stunned. It's the most marvellous thing." Alan Titchmarsh at the RSC. |
